Anna Catherine's class went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch but I didn't get to go. They don't allow strollers and there was no way that I could handle Jackson and Chloe without a stroller. I am hoping that some of the other mothers took pictures and will share with those of us who did not go. Each student chose a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to bring home as a souvenir. Anna Catherine's was the largest in the class, hence the green ribbon tied to her bag. She thought it was just the grandest thing ever!
Anna Catherine chose to be Ariel for Halloween but did not want to wear a wig. Instead she opted for a tiara and clip on earrings. I ordered Ariel clogs online but the wonderful US Post Office lost them. We went shoe shopping six of the past ten days and she never found a pair she liked so she wore her tennis shoes. (I still have to file a complaint with the post office for losing my package. I'll blog about that another day.) Jackson asked to be a vampire and he was very excited for about five minutes. Then, he didn't want to be a vampire any more. He wanted to be Jackson again. Poor fella was crying and everything. Once he saw the other kids in the neighborhood dressed up and they made comments on his costume, he was happy again. Chloe had no opinion so I chose for her the best costume that fits her personality--a devil (although Jackson called her a red dragon all night). She was the cutest little devil ever!!
Our cul-de-sac has an annual Halloween cookout. It was fun getting to meet some of the neighbors we had not previously met. We handed out candy to trick-or-treaters and then ventured out to get some of our own. Chloe walked most of the night rather than riding in the wagon. And she was barefoot. Her decision, not mine. She threw her shoes every time I put them on her. Let's just say she had no trouble going to sleep that night. Everyone had a great time.
