Ole Miss vs. Florida

September 22, 2007---Everyone was in the Grove bright and early due to an 11:30 a.m. kickoff between the Rebs and the Gators. We were excited to see the usual crowd, along with the Martinezes, the Bergerons, the Jacksons, the Simpsons, and Josh and Kim who came in just for this game. The kids played wonderfully together. The girls showed off their gymnastic abilities by doing at least 100 cartwheels. Oh, to have that kind of energy again:). Patrick Willis (aka P-Willie) started the Hotty Toddy. The Rebs looked pretty good today but just couldn't pull it out in the end. I think losing 30-24 isn't too bad considering Florida was ranked #3 in the nation. After the game, we hung out in the Grove for a while before going to Joe and Julie's for a cook out. My mom brought Jackson to Oxford so he could take part in the festivities. We had a blast hanging out with the adults, just chatting and watching football. The kids continued to play well together. They loved "Uncle Joe" reading them books in his Mr. Miagi voice (love you Joe!). It was a great weekend!!

Chloe's Big Week

September 13-20, 2007---Chloe has had a big week. She can take a few steps if you hold her fingers and can stand for a few minutes if she is holding on to something. Rick wants her to be able to walk by November so he can get her on the ski slopes but he'd better think again! Chloe has also mastered sitting up. It took a little longer than I expected but that's probably because I haven't been working with her. Rick says it's just hard for me to accept that she is the last baby I will ever have and I don't want her to grow up... and he's right. (Wow, don't tell him I said that---hahaha!) She got her first two teeth on Tuesday. She loves to put your finger in her mouth and bite you. Chloe also loves to talk; of course it's primarily baby babble but she did say her first word...MAMA (I'm not the only person who's heard her say it). She can't exactly crawl but she can move across a room very quickly by scooting on her stomach. I'm not too worried about that though. I never crawled as a baby and I made it just fine. Chloe went for a check-up on Wednesday and weighed 15 pounds 10 ounces and was 27 inches long. She turned 7 months old on Thursday. My sweet baby girl is growing up toooooooooo fast!!!!!! Why can't she be a baby forever?!?!?!

Ballard Park Playdate

September 15, 2007---We met Melissa, Jason, Kellen, and Erin at Ballard Park today for a playdate. The kids had lots of fun together and the adults enjoyed socializing. When it started getting dark we went to Burger King, had dinner, and let the kids play in the play area. It was fun getting together! Wish we could see each other more often!!

Mini Cheer Camp '07

September 15, 2007---Anna Catherine was one of approximately 100 girls ages 4-11 who attended the South Pontotoc Mini Cheer Camp today. She spent two and a half hours learning several cheers and a dance. Her instructor was Regan (one of Nicole's friends--Nicole taught the first graders). She had a lot of fun and will perform at the SP vs. Houston football game this Friday night. She is so excited!

Jackson vs. The Doorframe

September 11, 2007---The kids went to Grandmother and Granddaddy's house today. Chloe liked playing with Granddaddy and having Grandmother walk with her. Jackson thinks it is funny to run from you. He ran from Grandmother, wasn't watching where he was going, and ran into the doorframe. Once again, the pictures aren't great but it's hard for him to sit still.

Ole Miss vs. Mizzou

September 8, 2007---Yesterday was the first home game for the Ole Miss Rebel football team. We were excited. Football is my FAVORITE season of the year. We arrived in the Grove at 9:15 Saturday morning, eager to unpack and organize the tailgate. A very heavy rain had just dumped on Oxford for about an hour and it was very muddy. Luckily, they (Kevin, Stephanie, Rick, and Ryan) had snagged the perfect location for the Dixie Clique tents---at the intersection of Sorority Row and the Grove, one tent in from the street---perfect for loading and unloading and near the Hotty Toddy Potty!!! The new red chairs, table arrangements, and chandeliers were awesome! We had a good crowd and tons of delicious food. The rain held off and the weather was nice-- hot and humid but still bearable. We left the Grove at 4:30 p.m. heading to the stadium for a 5 o'clock kick-off against the Missouri Tigers. Archie Manning started the Hotty Toddy (which sounded like an All State commercial). The 1st, 3rd, and 4th quarters were great but the 2nd quarter was terrible. The Rebels just couldn't keep up and lost 35-28. After the game, the girls and I stayed in the Grove for a few minutes, then left to pick up Jackson from Grandmother's house (he has lost the ability to come to football games this season due to his stunt at the Auburn game last year). Rick and Ryan stayed for a while to socialize and pack up the tailgate supplies. It was a long day but oh, so much fun. As usual, Anna Catherine had a blast and I believe Chloe thoroughly enjoyed her first Grove/gameday experience. We're looking forward to the Florida game in two weeks and seeing lots of amazing friends we haven't seen in quite a while.
